Midnight Mass is an American supernatural horror streaming television miniseries created and directed by Mike Flanagan. It was released on Netflix on September 24, 2021 and received positive reviews.
Regardless if you are faith based or atheist this mini-series brings to life when Horror Meets Religion in ways you just can’t imagine!. Heads up - pacing can be very confusing and frustrating in the first couple episodes…..however stick with it (it becomes apparent staring in episode 3-4) and you will be rewarded with tense, thought provoking and shocking visuals as this series moves forward.
“The arrival of a charismatic young priest brings glorious miracles, ominous mysteries and renewed religious fervor to a dying town desperate to believe.”
This mini-series, without a doubt contains some of the best prolonged dialogue seen in any dramatic media. Those dialogs definitely highlight the entire experience and explore issues that are relatable to every human being. Flanagan was able to expertly create conversations that not only feel real….but also are meaningful enough to provoke deep thought by the viewer.
Be advised there are scenes that may likely stay with you for a very long time, it’s that potent. After watching, you may be left with questions like "what was this all about?" or "what did it all mean?".
I can say with total certainly this is definitely a binge-worthy ambitious meditation on grief and faith that is as gorgeous as it is unsettling!
Midnight Mass's slow boil is a triumph of terror that will leave viewers shaking - and thinking - long after the credits roll.
